SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 3, 2017 – United Airlines (UAL) today unveiled the United Airlines Festival Center on Marina Green - offering the best views of the San Francisco Bay including the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, Alcatraz Island, and parts of Marin County – the ultimate spot for plane spotting and fun during the San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show. The airline will also have a sweepstakes for customers to enter for a chance to win round trip flight tickets and a grand prize which also includes tickets to visit The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour in Everett, Wash.

The country’s largest and most significant event of its kind, San Francisco Fleet Week, now in its 37th year, is recognized by the United States Department of Defense as the model for fleet week events across the country and has become one of San Francisco’s largest attractions.

“United has been involved with San Francisco Fleet Week for nearly a decade, and with thousands of active duty and veteran men and women in our ranks, it has always been a great time to celebrate our military,” said Bryan Quigley Vice President of United’s San Francisco hub, and Navy Veteran. “This year, we’re taking our involvement to new levels with tons of exciting giveaways for customers, and our new United Airlines Festival Center on Marina Green.”

“Fleet Week is our City’s opportunity to salute the men and women in uniform bravely serving and protecting our country,” said Mayor Edwin M. Lee. “We are proud to mark this San Francisco celebration with our local community and business partners at United Airlines.”

San Francisco Fleet Week honors the contributions of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and promotes greater preparedness for the next emergency or disaster and civilian- and military-based Humanitarian Assistance personnel.

“This multi-year partnership agreement with United demonstrates the strong commitment United is making to our city and our military,” said Lewis Loeven Executive Director of the San Francisco Fleet Week Association. “Our world famous San Francisco Fleet Week Air show featuring the United Boeing 747 and our U.S. Navy Blue Angels already attracts 1.5 million visitors into our city, and the addition of the United Airlines Festival Center on Marina Green brings a completely new experience to our countless fans of families and visiting service members.”
